Though learning how to run and operate a tractor was fun, the most rewarding part of the internship was knowing that my contribution of time, along with many other peoples, was helping provide food for those in need. It was an amazing experience to witness how many people would leave their 9-5 jobs a little bit early to come work on a farm and harvest vegetables 2 nights a week. Though harvest day was only 2 nights a week, many other volunteers worked around the clock, behind the scenes, all hours of the day to better the farm, in turn bettering the lives of many other people. Through this experience I was able to witness true selflessness within hundreds of individuals both young and old which was truly eyeopening in the most positive way.
